Debit Cards
![]() Debit Cards look much like a credit card with the familiar Visa logo. However, these two cards serve a completely different purpose. A Credit Card is a way to access a loan. You buy now and pay for the purchase later. A Debit Card on the other hand accesses your checking account. It serves as a quick and easy alternative to checks. |
-1- AcceptanceIn many places where we find ourselves, outside of our state or sometimes even our community our checks aren't accepted. With the Visa Debit Card this problem is remedied. The card is accepted worldwide by those merchants displaying the Visa logo. |
-2- Record KeepingEvery time you make a debit card purchase you get a receipt, which makes record keeping easy. The receipt comes with merchants name, date of purchase, and amount. Also, when the debit card transaction clears your checking account the information of the merchants name, date of purchase and amount are also displayed on your statement so no more wondering for what purpose a check was written. |
-3- EaseThe Debit Card is the size of a credit card and easily fits in your wallet. No longer a need to constantly carry a check book. |
-4- Cost SavingsOur Debit Card has no monthly or annual fee. We do however charge a fee to purchase checks. With the VISA Debit Card, members will be able to reduce the sometimes costly expense of replenishing their check supply by not writing checks. |
Debit card costs you nothing to obtain and use. In return, it offers a quick, safe and convenient way to get cash and to make many daily purchases all over the world. If you are interested in more information or if you would like to apply for a debit card please contact us at the Credit Union. |
